Widsets & Widgets

Tempo fa vi avevo parlato dei widgets, che in breve tempo si sono affermati nel panorama mobile raggiungendo i due milioni di downloads.

 

Personalmente utilizzo con pi? frequenza la normale navigazione, tuttavia in previsione del format per l’imminente aggiornamento ho deciso di provare i vari servizi offerti da widsets.com, e di creare un widget personalizzato di questo blog. Come forse saprete gi?, i widget permettono di gestire i componenti come se fossero sul desktop del pc, navigando con il joystick da uno all’altro senza dover seguire un ordine predefinito. Esistono centinaia di widget che possono essere scelti dal catalogo, e il loro numero ? in continua crescita vista anche la semplicit? con cui si pu? creare il proprio. Tra i tanti che ho provato quello che pi? mi ha colpito ? stato quello di wikipedia, personalizzabile in diverse lingue e velocissimo nella risposta. Interessanti e divertenti anche i vari widgets per il meteo, alcuni con delle interfacce grafiche molto accattivanti. Per chi non vuole perdere la possibilit? di avere sempre le ultime novit? a portata di mano, esistono widgets per visualizzare la propria posta da gmail e yahoo, per leggere le pi? importanti riviste online e per le news. Il tutto sfruttando un programmino che pesa poche decine di kb e che pu? essere caricato su tutti i modelli che supportano java.

    Hi Pietro.
    I’ve been using Widsets for around a week or two now after discovering it while updating my catalogues after a firmware update. I find it to be really good, but very limited at the moment, not being able to follow the links in some of the text is a bit of a frustration, and the news sites only displaying the first paragraph of the reports.
    But having said that it’s still early days and things can only get better. They may even enable live links some time in the future.
    All makes the N series that much better than the rest ;)

    That’s true mate, i too think there can be a big improvement, but widsets are relatively young in the symbian web applications panorama, so they are ok for use not constantly… I’m sure in the early future we’ll have a better experience and more items to use, as it is really simple to create own widgets and share with other people as i made… ;)

    Ciao! Mi consiglio un buon widg per il meteo???Quello proposto fa un po’ schifo, e dalla tua recensione dici di averne trovato uno graficamente buono..Ciao e grazie!

    Ce ne sono diversi a seconda della citt? in cui ti trovi, quelli pi? belli sono quelli francesi, ma se non c’? quello personalizzato della tua citt? devi acconentarti di quello generico… Smiley

    They explained the reasons for the news sites only displaying the first few lines of a report.

    Apparently it’s because they are only RSS feeds and it’s dependent on the feed provider how much info is submitted. Probably a way to get you to visit the home-site to get the rest of the news, thus pushing up their visitor numbers.

    Yes it’s just a feed reader as mine in feedburner, it’s just to inform you if there are news. if there are, you can choose to read them or not just looking at the summary…
